Pegasus Work Party Feb 22

logo-3

Pegasus is saying goodbye to Vermont, where Dr. Cook has joined his 30 patients/victims in the cemetery on the hill, and they’re entering David Ives’ world of his 6 short plays in All in the Timing. Because that world doesn’t really have a geographical location and is set mainly in your head (“intellectual slapstick” and “brain teasers,” as one enthusiastic critic put it), we’ll be doing black box theater.

Please join Pegasus at the theater on Saturday, February 22, noon to 5 PM at a work party where they’ll be:
  • Striking the set of Dr. Cook
  • Painting the flats
  • Tidying up dressing room and storage area
If you can come, please let them know so they have a headcount for lunch. Contact Frances Werner at franceswerner (at) sonic.net.

Sweet Treat for your Valentine!

Dr. Cook’s Garden is a tautly written, tightly crafted play by a master of suspense who also wrote Rosemary’s Baby, the Stepford Wives, Deathtrap, and other edgy plays and novels.
The talented cast consists of Rusty Thompson, Nicholas McCook, Lois Pearlman and Michelle Randall.
Dr. Cook’s Garden runs every Friday and Saturday night at 8 pm, and every Sunday at 2 pm through February 16.

  • Sunday, February 16 at 1:00 pm = The Pegasus Gala Party is the final performance. The admission price of $30 includes scrumptious complimentary hors d’oeuvres, champagne and non-alcoholic beverages. Dessert will be served at intermission.

Pegasus theater is holding auditions for “All in the Timing” by David Ives

Auditions are starting for All in the Timing by David Ives, a compilation of 6 fantastically written, short one-act comedies, each one a challenge for actors. They hope to cast ensemble style, with actors playing roles in multiple short plays.

All in the Timing will run for 4 weekends, March 21 through April 13, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM, at Pegasus Theater Company at the Rio Nido Lodge. The read through is scheduled for February 1, time and place TBA.

Dates of Auditions:
Monday, January 13, and Tuesday, January 14, at Pegasus Theater Company at the Rio Nido Lodge from 7 PM to 8 PM.  Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19, from 3 PM to 4 PM at a park in Cotati. They’ll provide park location and directions. Each audition is only an hour long to get as many people working together as possible. The directors will be there an hour earlier than the scheduled times doing improv games, vocal warm-ups and physical work and would LOVE to have actors be involved in this at their earliest convenience.

Preparing for Audition:
Actors will do cold reads of the script and are not required to bring a monologue. But if you feel it would showcase you best, please do. If you can sing, please prepare 16 bars of a song that show your talents best. If you feel a musical instrument would strengthen that, please bring it. If you play a musical instrument, please bring it. You do not need to have anything prepared. Please bring your favorite warm-up/theatre game to play, and wear clothes comfortable enough to move in. Most importantly, please bring a flexible brain, ready to do anything and be anyone! They want to see what you can DO!

Scheduling Auditions:
Please send an email with your name, audition date, and an off-the-wall fact to Rachel Custer at rachel_leia88 (at) gmail.com. If you are absolutely unable to audition any of the 4 days listed, but still want to be involved, let us know by email and we can schedule a time to meet with you between January 21 and January 27.
This production is directed by Alexis E Long and Rachel Custer.

P.S. They’re are also on the look-out for some kickass designers, so if you see/know/are one, let them know by email also!

Winter evenings are warm and welcoming out on the RNR’s back patio, especially Saturday nights when some of the best bands around are booked to perform. The Tom Finn Band plays this Saturday, and then we skip a Saturday due to the conflicting ever-popular Guerneville Parade of Lights. We’re still open! Join us afterwards.

On December 14, we’ll have the Honeydippers for the first time. Rollicking fun and good music as they play R&B, Funk, Rock, even some Gospel. And on December 21, The THUGZ are going to rev up the decibels with their Hippie Holidaze Party! Come join us for all our events!

Holiday Show Work Party at Pegasus November 10

logo-3

Pegasus Theater is heading to the East Coast, where it snows for the holidays, the setting of Sleeping Indoors, written by Jim Holt and directed by John Rowan. Please join the  work party on Sunday, November 10 from noon to 5pm. No, that’s not a typo—it’s on Sunday, not the traditional Saturday, for just this work party. They’ll be painting the flats and doing other tasks. Please let John Rowan know if you can come at johnrowan14365 (at) gmail.com. The hotel rooms and the Moon River Marketplace at the historic Rio Nido Lodge have been renovated and are now open for business. So, the front of the main parking lot is reserved for Lodge guests. Look for signs directing you to the Pegasus parking areas.
